ALASKAN KLEE KAI KENNELETTE RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR OWNERSHIP

1. OWNERSHIP:  All potential owners of Alaskan Klee Kai Kennelette animals must complete a Questionnaire and be approved for ownership prior to being allowed on our waiting list.  Our animals will be placed on a Co-ownership agreement  which is explained more thoroughly in each Sale and Purchase Contract.  I will release the co-ownership upon the completion of requirements of the Contract, which include an Examination/evaluation form to be completed by a Veterinarian after the age of 8 months, and a spay/neuter of any of my offspring that do not meet the requirements to be included in the Breeding Program and/or the Conformation Show Ring.

This procedure is primarily so no litters from Alaskan Klee Kai Kennelette dogs can be registered with United Kennel Club or any other Kennel Club unless the parent dogs have submitted an Examination/Evaluation form and have been approved for breeding by Eileen Gregory or her Assigns.  Each Contract will explain the timing and requirements for release of Co-ownership

2. BREEDING:  Alaskan Klee Kai obtained from Alaskan Klee Kai Kennelette may have litters registered only after the parent dogs have received approval for the breeding program from Eileen Gregory, owner/operator.  The decision as to the quality of the dog in question will be based on the Alaskan Klee Kai Breed Standards as they were written and accepted by United Kennel Club in 1995, and by the Veterinarian Examination which states any physical or structural problems that might be genetic in nature.   Any Alaskan Klee Kai that are obtained from our kennels that is found to carry  more than one Serious Fault, one or more Disqualifying Faults, veterinarian statement of a physical or structural fault that is deemed to be genetic in nature, and/or who is not approved by Eileen Gregory or her assigns, will be required to be spay/neutered so those faults will not be passed on to offspring.  EXCEPTIONS CAN BE REQUESTED BY THE OWNERS.

In the event of an Examination/Evaluation form being presented reflects questionable quality, it will be presented to at least two other established breeders to obtain their opinions prior to an exception being made.   No Alaskan Klee Kai from Alaskan Klee Kai Kennelette will be used for breeding to any other breed of dog, nor to any other dog that looks like an Alaskan Klee Kai, but whose parentage cannot be tracked to Linda Spurlin's dogs through the records of Alaskan Klee Kai Kennelette or the records of the AKKAOA.  It is known that these records are no longer current, so with proper documentation a dog that is not currently on the Alaskan Klee Kai Kennelette records, or AKKAOA records,  can be considered for inclusion in those records so the dog could be added and then approved for my breeding program.

3. INFORMATION UPDATE:  Alaskan Klee Kai Kennelette Sale and Purchase Contracts include a statement of responsibility which all buyers must agree to.  This  will state that it is the responsibility of all Alaskan Klee Kai owners who obtained their Alaskan Klee Kai from Alaskan Klee Kai Kennelette, to advise, in writing, of any medical, structural or personality problem that may develop at any time during their dog's life, as well as any Transfer of Ownership, disappearance or death of their Alaskan Klee Kai and the cause of death, and supply Veterinarian's Certificate for any spay/neuter surgery that is performed on their Alaskan Klee Kai.   This is necessary for proper tracking of faults as they develop, and for keeping information on as many Alaskan Klee Kai as possible, so the Breeding Program is able to continue in a cautious and informed manner.

4. ALASKAN KLEE KAI INQUIRIES AND COMMUNICATIONS: Communications and inquiries for information must reference the Alaskan Klee Kai's full UKC registered  name as well as the dog's call name and UKC Registration Number. Additional data may be requested to facilitate the location and recording of data in the appropriate files.

5. ALASKAN KLEE KAI ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA RECORDS:  If and/or when the Alaskan Klee Kai Association of America, Inc. is approved by the United Kennel Club to continue to maintain  its Book of Records on the Alaskan Klee Kai Breed, the Alaskan Klee Kai Kennelette Records may be made available to the AKKAOA, as the object of keeping these records is for the History and the Improvement of the Alaskan Klee Kai Breed.   Also, the Alaskan Klee Kai Kennelette Records may be made available to other Kennel Clubs which may be considering recognition of the Alaskan Klee Kai Breed.

6:  EXCEPTIONS TO RULES AND REGULATIONS: Any requests for exception to the Alaskan Klee Kai Kennelette Rules and Regulations must be submitted in writing. Approvals for Exceptions will be the sole responsibility of the Owner of Alaskan Klee Kai Kennelette and the agreement of at least two other established loyal Alaskan Klee Kai Breeders, or their assigns.  Approved exceptions must be in writing to be effective and will be kept on file.
